My idea for 3 day Master Art Workshops was born a few years ago when I realised that there was a desire and need to introduce my students to a richer experience in painting.

That is, a short but intensive exposure to a new spectrum of artists. While we are fortunate to have so many talented homegrown artists here in the Maltese Islands, I believe that you can only grow when you are in the presence of a Master artist.

Often this a very expensive experience to invest in, especially when one has to incure flights, accommodation, travel and living expenses on top of it all. So when I was offered a chance to invite the amazing portrait artist, Gareth Reid (the winner of the Portrait Artist of the Year) a few years back, I thought that by inviting the Master here it would help to facilitate and also present a wonderful opportunity to any aspiring artist to learn from the best without breaking the bank. I was proven right, as the course turned out to be a huge success.

Igli Arapi has been on my radar for a number of years and I have admired his work from afar for so long. So I was so excited to get to have a chance encounter with him personally, by chance, in Puglia while staying in Polignano a Mare, last October. As I wandered around its' spell-binding, narrow white washed alleys, I stopped short in front of this stunning watercolour, hanging in a shop window. Of course I had to go in as I gaped in admiration; it was then that I realised that the signature was also familiar and sure enough, the artist himself, was sitting at his desk painting a little watercolour.  'Wow!!!'... O M G  is my first reaction, as for me whenever I meet a Master Artist, I always feel like I am meeting a famous rock star, even here in Malta or Gozo. So being who I am, I just went up to him and of course was so overly excited that I just went ahead and invited him to come to do these once in a lifetime workshops for you.

So here we are once again, this time with another brilliant artist and whose work alone speaks for itself.
